The new MY-1600 Diamond Edge Polisher allows users to obtain crystal clear finishes on plastics up to 1600mm long, over 120mm thick, and at angles from 0° To 60° . Material to be polished is clamped firmly to the work table of the machine, giving maximum support and rigidity. Multiple pneumatic clamping cylinders can be adjusted for position both along and across the material, giving the ultimate in flexibility for workpiece holding. Vacuum clamping chucks are also available to order for pieces that cannot be held mechanically.
The diamond tipped cutter hub is mounted onto an inverter controlled, high frequency spindle. The cutter assembly runs across the material on precision linear rails, giving a smooth and accurate Polish. Cutter hubs are available in either full gloss or satin versions.
The unique geometry of the cutter tilting mechanism allows the material stop to tilt with the cutter, so that exactly the right amount of material is removed during the cut, whatever the angle or material thickness. This also allows stacks of material to be bevelled without any difficult setting up.
Cutter speed, traverse and angle are all controlled through a PLC (programmable logic controller), with a panel mounted LCD display giving feedback to the operator at all times. All of these adjustments can be made "on the fly", reducing the setup time between jobs needing different angles to seconds.
